Parrot Family

All parrots in the world belong to the order Psittaciformes. In that order, there are two different families: cockatoos and Psittacidae. Cockatoos belong to the first family, while the second includes all the parrots in the real world.

Each family has sub-families parrots in it, and in this subspecies. Aras, for example, belong to the family Psittacidae. Aras is a subfamily. Among the parrots, there are at least 17 members:

4. Budgerigars, parakeets Pacific in particular, are one of the smallest Parrots known the world - about 4 inches long! They are also one of the most pernicious and most courageous of all the parrots in the world. These small parrots learn to speak with one voice that sounds like a robot. This little voice, size and does not scream, make it ideal for those who need a quiet companion.

5. Africa gray African gray parrot is probably the most intelligent parrot in the world, and indeed of all birds. These parrots are not as colorful as some. They are mainly gray, as its name suggests. They have bright red or brown tail, although according to the subspecies. African Gray excelled in mimicry, often learning as much as 1-2000 words. They learn from other sounds, too, and can quickly learn to imitate a jet engine if you you walk into an airport with them. Among the many parrots in the world, these may be the most demanding. As your toddler, these birds are bored and you want to know their owners. If you are looking for a parrot intellectual, loyal and affectionate, the African Gray is probably a good choice.

How different are the parrots?

In total, the parrots of the world number one, more than 350 different species and subspecies! Because of habitat loss, climate change, hunting and trade of live birds as pets, some parrots have disappeared. Other are designated as threatened or species are "endangered" list.

Life expectancy
